I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate on the design and branding for Olivia Dean's debut album, "Messy." Helped the conceptualization and execution of various elements, ensuring a cohesive and visually striking representation of Olivia's music.
Key Contributions:
Vinyl Label Design: Crafted a unique and eye-catching vinyl label that complemented the aesthetic and served as a distinctive mark for the physical release
Vinyl Booklet: Illustrated a visually engaging booklet accompanying the vinyl and CD, enhancing the overall album experience by providing fans with an immersive visual journey alongside the music.
Merchandise Design: Helped design merchandise that resonated with Olivia's brand
Promotional Material: Created impactful promotional materials for gig venues, ensuring that Olivia's live performances were complemented by visually appealing collateral that captured the attention and conveyed the essence of "Messy"
TV Live Shows: The album's visual identity was translated into promotional material for television live shows, ensuring a consistent and memorable presence across various media platforms
Website Design: Helped establish an online presence for "Messy" by designing the illustrations for the website, reinforcing the brand identity
This project was a testament to my own work over the years about my love for the Caribbean and the Windrush Generation. In particular, I was inspired by my relationship with my Grandmother and our trip to Jamaica. Olivia and her team contacted me to and expressed a shared vision for celebrating our Caribbean heritage and our grandmothers Carmen and Sisibell.
It was an honour to contribute to the success of Olivia Dean's debut, which was nominated for the 2023 Mercury Prize
I look forward to taking on more projects that blend creativity with strategic design.
